Schwed Antaeos Hedstrom Files
Schwed Antaeos Hedstrom Files have one continuous cutting edge which runs spirally from the tip of the blade toward the handle. This edge is extremely sharp which makes the Hedstrom File a very effective cutting instrument. The dentine scraped from the canal walls collects in the chip space on the blade is efficiently removed.

Hedstrom files do not cut with their tips and have no cutting action on insertion. They are effective only on the pull stroke. Hedstrom files must be used in strict sequential order. Care must be taken to avoid rotating the instrument in order to prevent the possibility of a corkscrew effect, or instrument distortion.

Schwed Antaeos Flexicut Files have triangular cross section instead of the normal square one. This creates a smaller cross section for maximum flexibility. The triangular shape results in 3 sharp cutting edges with an acute rake angle for optimal cutting efficiency and a larger chip space to remove dentinal debris more efficiently.

Flexicut’s non aggressive tip avoids ledging, even in the narrowest most tortuous canals. Flexicut will follow any canal curvature all the way to the apex and will clean the entire pulp canal.
